Picnic like a Pro!

With fully vaxxed Sydneysiders now allowed to gather outdoors in groups of five, it's fair to say that picnics are about to have a moment.

To ensure that you are fully equipped for your first post-lockdown social outing, we've put together a guide to your picnic essentials, all available at World Square.

Picnic Essential #1 - Food

Coles have a wide range of ready-made platters that mean you won’t have to lift a finger to prepare a delicious picnic spread for your crew.  Options include cheese, artisan and Ploughman platters and if you’re feeling extra fancy, they even have a seafood platter filled with prawns, smoked salmon and oysters.  If you’re after something a little more substantial, there is also a range of picnic-friendly takeaway meals available from our World Square Retailers including Grill’d, Taste of Shanghai, Gami Chicken & Beer, PappaRich, Guzman Y Gomez.

Picnic Essential #2 - Drinks

Liquorland’s range of ready-to-drink pre-mixed spirits is the perfect picnic companion, providing a no-fuss solution to enjoying your favourite alcoholic drop outdoors. Depending on your preference, they have something for everyone including Smirnoff Seltzers, Gordon’s gin and tonic, Absolut Vodka lime & soda, and even Rosé in a can. If you’re off the booze, Coco Tea has a yummy selection of takeaway bubble teas with plenty of tasty toppings. Our friends at Top Juice also have a range of freshly made juices as well as cold-pressed juices that come in packs of 12,  for easy sharing amongst the whole gang.

Picnic Essential #3 - Desserts

Once you’ve polished off your meal and downed a few drinks, you’ll be in need of something sweet! Breadtop has a range of freshly baked treats including custard buns, creamy doughnuts, croissants and cakes. If tarts are your jam, Hokkaido has a mouth-watering selection of freshly baked & delicately crafted cheese tarts in an assortment of flavours. You also can’t go past Pafu’s famous range of puffs -  layers of flaky pastry filled with pillowy cream custard. Yum!

Picnic Essential # 4 - Sun protection

Kids, never picnic without protection!!  To protect your skin, head to Priceline and choose from a range of sunscreens from brands such as Banana Boat, Bondi Sands and Cancer Council.  To shield the eyes (and look the part!), Carolina Lemke Berlin has a range of stylish sunnies that are 100% UV protective. For overall sun protection and to dial up the farshuun vibes, check out Glue Store’s cool edit of bucket hats, fedoras and straw boaters.

Picnic Essential #5 - Something to capture the mems

Of course, we all have access to a camera through our phones but how often are we actually printing out our photos? Make instant memories that last forever with a polaroid camera from JB Hi-Fi. You’ll have a permanent keepsake from the “Great picnic of ‘21 “ - a time during the pandemic when life was starting to return to normal.
